Overview

Whether it’s a start-up or Fortune 500 firm, Morgan’s goal is to work with companies from around the world and help them connect the dots to ensure the highest levels of success in the Carolinas. Before joining Nexsen Pruet, she worked for the South Carolina Department of Commerce. In her various roles there, she focused on growing the state’s economy by recruiting companies and assisting them with everything from site selection to incentives to permitting.

Morgan’s work took her around the world, where she served as an ambassador for the State of South Carolina and engaged with federal government officials, international organizations, consulates, consultants, and company leadership. She assists business leaders and executives with issues involving:

  • Identification of targets & areas of opportunity
  • Site selection
  • Negotiation of tax credits and incentives
  • Facilitation of deals with utility providers, service providers and other governmental agencies

  • Was instrumental in creating the State of South Carolina’s pilot "Landing Pad" program, designed to help established international companies start small-scale operations in the Southeastern US.
  • In November of 2014, Morgan planned a gubernatorial mission for Governor Nikki Haley to India. This 12-day mission included a delegation of 18 people, comprising of high-level government officials and agency heads, business leaders, and private companies. In all, professionals representing South Carolina took part in more than 120 recruitment meetings and events in seven cities.
  • Has planned and executed more than 13 international economic development missions across Europe, Asia, and Canada.
  • Spent two months working in South Carolina’s Europe office, located in Munich, Germany.

  • Participated in three SC Department of Commerce seminars across India: Chennai with the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Hyderabad with the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and Mumbai with the Confederation of Indian Industry. Morgan spoke on the legal aspects of doing business in the United States. November 2017.

  • Moderated Upstate SC Alliance's "Global Leadership in the Upstate" panel at Ten at the Top's The PIQUE event, which featured panelists representing BMW Manufacturing, SC Department of Commerce, Denny's and Boyd Cycling. March 2018.

In her spare time, Morgan enjoys traveling, both domestically and internationally. She loves learning about different cultures, interacting with people of diverse backgrounds, and sampling food and drinks from other places. She is a Clemson football fan, and can often be found supporting the Tigers on Saturdays during football season.  She also enjoys staying active and spending time with her friends, family, and two schnoodles, Milly & Rigby.
