Local Government Competitiveness Council Report 2016

May 12, 2017

On March 2, 2016 Governor Nikki Haley (now UN Ambassador) signed an executive order creating a Local Government Competitiveness Council that reviewed how South Carolina counties compared to each other in economic development matters.  At that time, then-Governor Haley named then-South Carolina Department of Revenue Director Rick Reames as Chair. Nexsen Pruet member, Burnie Maybank was also appointed by then-Governor Haley to serve as member on the Council. The Council explored a number of factors, including workforce development, taxes and regulations, and infrastructure capacity and need.

The final report issued by the Council can be viewed by clicking here or by clicking the image below.

Rick Reames is the former Director of the South Carolina Department of Revenue.
